Ultra lattice is a modern highly customizable and ultra strong version of a conventional wood pergola made with heavy gauge aluminum to provide durability and embossing to simulate the real texture of woods like cedar and driftwood. Unlike its wood predecessor, ultra lattice pergolas require little to no maintenance, come in multiple colors and options and eliminate periodic refinishing, warping, cracking and chipping.
Composite is basically a combination of plastics, wood fibers and in some cases additional materials that offer a natural looking wood deck finish with no staining, waterproofing or sealing required. The life of the product is also usually 3 – 4 times that of conventional wood.
A pergola is a patio cover structure with almost an endless array of options ranging from custom horizontal end cuts to various vertical supports, but it is primarily column supported parallel colonnades supporting an open roof of girders or beams and cross rafters.
An arbor is often confused with a pergola. Where pergolas actually cover a given area, arbors are more like a backing ornamental structure within a garden with ivy or vines. Arbors are more commonly used as a threshold over a walkway, i.e., wedding arbor over couple being married.

Options range from basic square posts to Greek style columns which include round, square, fluted and “H” columns with miter or bevel end-cut supports. To go an additional step, smooth, incised, rusticated and paneled detail can make them all the more stylish. Capital tops, scroll shapes, inverted bell designs and inlayed leaf patterns make the options endless – not to mention Tuscan, attic and pedestal bases.
